Cortney Norton: Deco-Rating Your Skin
If you’re into tattoos that feel both timeless and full of personality, you’ll love the work of Cortney Norton. Cortney creates highly detailed, ornamental tattoos that draw inspiration straight from the natural world—think animals, plants, and dreamy botanical motifs, all styled with a touch of vintage elegance. Her work blends Art Deco geometry with the flowing beauty of Art Nouveau, making each piece feel like something out of a magical storybook.
From Art School to Tattoo Studio
Cortney grew up on the south side of Atlanta, bouncing between Fayette County and College Park. With a childhood full of change—she attended 12 different elementary schools!—art was always her steady constant. After high school, she earned a BFA in Illustration from SCAD with double minors in Painting and Drawing.
Just weeks after graduating, she stepped into the tattoo world with an apprenticeship at All or Nothing Tattoo in 2015, later completing her training at Sacred Heart under Travis Clark.
Tattooing was always on her radar, thanks in part to her dad, who had tattoos and encouraged her to consider the craft instead of college. She ended up doing both, and today she carries her father’s inspiration with her into every tattoo she creates.
Nature Meets Nouveau
Cortney’s tattoos are all about balance—between bold and delicate, organic and ornamental, vintage and modern. She specializes in turning natural subjects like birds, flowers, insects, and creatures into intricate, flowing tattoos inspired by Art Nouveau and Art Deco aesthetics.
Her attention to color is just as precise as her linework. Cortney meticulously hand-mixes her inks to create custom tones that feel earthy, unexpected, and magical all at once. Whether she’s crafting soft pastels or rich antique hues, her palettes bring a special kind of warmth and depth to every piece.
The result is a design that feels both alive and timeless—something you’ll love looking at for years to come.
Outside the Studio
Outside of work, Cortney is a full-on art nerd. She loves graphic novels, immersive video games, niche films, documentaries, podcasts, musicals, and even a little reality TV when the mood strikes. All of that creative input helps fuel her constantly evolving style—and makes her one of the most fun people to spend a tattoo session with.
